Our Favorite Way to Unwind on the Water

There's really nothing quite like dining alfresco right on the water. After a busy week, setting the table out on the dock and slowing down for a quiet dinner outside is our absolute favorite way to unwind. It wasn't long before our girl came out to join us. She's always right by our side whenever we're down here, just taking in the evening breeze and keeping a close eye on the table. We had every intention of untying the boat and heading out for an evening cruise after we finished eating. But looking off toward the horizon, the sky started looking a little suspect. We pulled up the weather radar, and sure enough, a storm cell was tracking right our way. We decided to play it safe, skip the boat ride, and stay put. Instead of heading inside, we poured another drink, put on a great playlist, and decided to just hang out on the dock. As luck would have it, the storm veered off in a completely different direction, leaving us with a calm, stunning evening. It turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous night. We ended up staying out long after the sun went down, listening to music in the dark and just enjoying the water. Sometimes the best plans are the ones you don't make.
